San Francisco, Nov. 3.—Coach Jack Meagher will lead his Rice Owls into San Francisco this morning and will be greeted at the station by a delegation of notables, headed by Mayor Angelo Rossi. The Owl squad will be given a royal welcome and the entire squad will be escorted to the city hall. The Rice team will work out this afternoon at Kezar Stadium to get out the road kinks and will be in fine physical condition when they meet the Santa Clara team tomorrow. Interest in the game is running high and a crowd of about 28,000 is expected to see the game. Santa Clara is rated as the best team but Coach Smith of Santa Clara stated that he will not take any chances against Coach Meagher's team tomorrow. The Owls looked good in their workout«$t Southern California Stadium in Los Angeles yesterday and Coach Meagher expressed his belief that they will make a far better showing this week than last.
